Deaf Initiatives

The mission of Deaf Initiatives Inc. is to support and encourage activities that strengthen the career potential of young adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. We create high quality keepsake t-shirt quilts in order to fund activities and workshops for deaf and hard of hearing youth, as well as to provide them with work experience.


This website contains science education links for Deaf students, and was developed in response to the need of Deaf students to have access to sites that do not require hearing in order to access quality Science links. This site was also developed as a science research starting point for students gathering information on various topics.

YMCA Camp Indian Springs is a fun filled action packed resident camp. The Camp Indian Springs Deaf Week is a wonderful experience for deaf & hard of hearing children and their hearing siblings, ages 8-15.

Aspen Camp School for the Deaf

The Aspen Camp School for the Deaf Summer Program experience is more than having fun. It is ever crucial for Deaf or Hard of Hearing children and teens to experience a nurturing environment with caring adults who are committed to positive growth and development. Every child deserves a camp experience that encourages discovery, exploration, active participation, a joy of learning, and a sense of belonging.

Camp Mark Seven

Camp Mark Seven is a lakefront recreational, educational & leadership camp in the Adirondack Mountains in Old Forge, New York. Diverse programs are offered for Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing & hearing individuals of all ages.

Bill Rice Deaf Camp

The Bill Rice Ranch is a revival ministry centered on the preaching of God's Word. Begun in 1953 for the Deaf, the Bill Rice Ranch has grown into a ministry with many facets and a wide-reaching affect. Now ministering to thousands of hearing and Deaf people each year around the world, the Ranch hosts camps in Middle Tennessee, Northern Arizona, New England, and the Philippines. In addition to the camping ministries, the Ranch ministers year-round through retreats and revival services in local churches.

Signing Time Children's Videos

From their magical animated world, Alex (who can hear) and Leah, (who is Deaf) extend an invitation to infants and children: "Come sign with us"! They introduce tot-friendly American Sign Language signs in a playful way - with real children of varying ages proudly showing their signs.
